Old Synagogue: Tadeusz Kosciuszko Plaque

This plaque commemorates a 1794 visit to the synagogue by Tadeusz Kosciuszko:

"The Jews proved to the world that whenever humanity can gain, they would not spare their lives. Here, in the old synagogue, in the days of insurrection of 1794 [against the Russians] Tadeusz Kosciuszko called the Jews to arms in the fight for liberation of the country."
